Christchurch cricket fans are being urged to purchase tickets now to avoid missing the eagerly anticipated first Tegel Test between the BLACKCAPS and England, starting at Hagley Oval this Thursday.

Saturday’s third day at the 8,400-seat venue has officially sold-out, with limited tickets available for the remaining days of the first Test of the crucial three-game ICC World Test Championship series.

With the BLACKCAPS still in contention for a place in the ICC WTC Final in June, following their incredible 3-nill Test series win in India, the Tegel Test series has seen unprecedented demand for tickets.

The first three days of the second Test at the Cello Basin Reserve sold-out over a month ago, with the fourth day also heading for a full house.

Seddon Park, the largest venue with 9,000 seats, saw a ticket spike last week following the news of Northern Districts talisman Tim Southee’s impending retirement from Test cricket, with the Hamilton ground also set to be at capacity for the third and final Test.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Fans can purchase adult and family tickets at 15 percent discount by joining NZC’s free members club, Cricket Nation.
