Hagley Oval Member’s Lounge Dress Standards

The minimum dress standard for international cricket is business casual

Men

  • A collared shirt is required.  Jackets are recommended but not compulsory.
  • Ties are optional.
  • Tailored dress jeans and knee-length dress shorts are permitted.
  • Business or smart casual shoes are expected.
  • No jandals, sandals and the like (if we see toes, the answer is no).
  • Sports shoes and sports sneakers are not considered suitable for the lounge and will not be permitted
  • Hats and caps are not permitted to be worn in the lounge but may be worn in the stand

Women

  • Women are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the dignity of the Members Lounge.  
  • No brief or revealing clothing.
  • Sports shoes and sports sneakers are not considered suitable for the lounge and will not be permitted
  • Hats and caps are not permitted to be worn in the lounge but may be worn in the stand

Children

  • Children under 15 years of age are exempt from the above but are expected to adhere to the general dress standards of the lounge.

General standards

  • All members are reminded of their responsibility for ensuring the attire of guests introduced to the Hagley Oval Members Lounge conforms to the required standard.
  • Canterbury Cricket Trust reserve the right of entry at all times.
  • Please note that all guests and Hagley Oval members must ensure that their accreditation such as swingers and wristbands are visible at all times.
  • Shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Ripped or torn jeans, track pants, beach or sports shorts, jandals, beach shoes, singlets, hoodies are not permitted.
  • Clothing with offensive messages is not permitted.
  • All officially licensed replica New Zealand or the visiting team player shirts are permitted.
  • All sanctioned New Zealand and visiting team giveaway headwear is acceptable.
  • Members and guests will be denied admission to member areas if they do not meet these requirements.
  • Behaviour, conduct and dress will be monitored by staff during the test.
  • Members and guests must comply with the ticket and entry terms and conditions of New Zealand Cricket, available at www.blackcaps.co.nz
