The 2025/26 cricket season at Hagley Oval promises to be one of the biggest yet,with a full calendar of international and domestic fixtures bringing world-class cricketto the heart of Christchurch. International cricket begins in October, when England visit for back-to-back T20internationals. The excitement continues into November and December as the WestIndies arrive for limited overs and Test action, giving fans the chance to see two ofthe game’s most entertaining sides up close. The New Year belongs to the Dream11 Super Smash, with Canterbury’s men’s andwomen’s teams set for a string of home fixtures before Hagley Oval takes centrestage once again by hosting both the Elimination Finals and the Grand Finals at theend of January. A full weekend of knockout T20 cricket will showcase the best talentin the country, with the Oval providing the perfect stage. Then in March, the spotlight shines again as South Africa tour New Zealand. HagleyOval will host a thrilling T20 international double-header featuring both theBLACKCAPS and the WHITE FERNS, as well as a One Day International betweenthe White Ferns and South Africa – adding a fitting finale to an already packedseason. Alongside the international and Super Smash action, Hagley Oval will also play hostto the full range of New Zealand’s domestic competitions. Matches in the FordTrophy, Hallyburton Johnstone Shield, and Plunket Shield will bring Canterbury’smen’s and women’s teams onto their home ground throughout the summer.
