The Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust today announced a $3 million loan towards construction of the new pavilion at Hagley Oval, providing a new home ground for cricket and much needed community meeting spaces following the impact of the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes.

Christchurch will host Cricket World Cup match
The schedule for the 2015 Cricket World Cup has been announced, with seven New Zealand cities hosting three matches each. Christchurch will host the opening match of the Cricket World Cup on Valentines Day 2015. The tournament will be hosted by New Zealand and Australia from February to March 2015.
