Hagley Oval Pavilion installs it’s crowning glory This week marked a significant milestone in the development of Hagley Oval with the completion of the roof for the new Hagley Oval Pavilion. The floating tensile roof, which sees 2.5 tonnes of fabric being put into place, will cover the pavilion which remains on schedule for completion in September. The pavilion project is being delivered by the Canterbury Cricket Trust on behalf of Canterbury Cricket. The Pavilion takes shape Despite numerous deluges of rain, the Pavilion is on track for a September completion date. Test cricket could be set to return to Christchurch after an eight-year hiatus. Canterbury Cricket boss Lee Germon has requested a test match and a one-day international during Sri Lanka’s tour next summer and is “hopeful” of a positive result.
