Blackcaps vs West Indies Test Match

30th November 2025.

Test cricket is back at Hagley Oval, with Day 1 kicking off Tuesday, December 2, when the Blackcaps meet the West Indies. If you are coming to all or some of the Test Match, here’s everything you will need to know to make your visit with us as enjoyable as possible.

  • 📍 Venue: Hagley Oval
  • 🔓 Gates Open: 9.30am
  • 🏏 First Ball each day: 11am
  • 🥪 Scheduled Lunch Break: 1pm
  • 🏏 Scheduled Second Session Commences: 1.40pm
  • 🍵 Scheduled Tea Break: 3.40pm
  • 🏏 Scheduled Third Session Commences: 4pm
  • Scheduled End of Days Play: 6pm

Please note: All timings are approximate and subject to change. Play can start at 10:30am on Days 2 – 5 if time has been lost due to weather. Play can also extend to 6:30pm for a slow over rate or 7pm if weather has delayed play. Lunch and tea timings are more or less fixed unless there is a change of innings close to the scheduled break.

🚪 VENUE ACCESS

Entry is available through the following gates:

  • Gate A – General and Mobility Admission entry from Riccarton Avenue.
  • Gate B – General Admission entry from Deans Avenue.
  • Gate D – Exclusive entry for Hagley Oval Pavilion Club Members and VIP guests.

Please have your ticket ready for scanning at the gate to ensure smooth entry.


🚗 PARKING & TRANSPORT

There is no public parking inside Hagley Park for this event.
Spectators are encouraged to use public transport, cycling, or walking where possible.

Biking to the game? Dedicated bicycle parking is available outside Gate A. Please note that bike owners are responsible for their own bicycles, and it is strongly recommended that all bicycles be properly secured.

Nearby parking options:

  • On-street parking around Hagley Park (please observe Council signage).
  • City car parks within a short walk to the venue.

Public Transport:

  • Regular Metro bus services operate to and from Riccarton Road, Deans Ave and Moorhouse Ave with several bus routes getting you straight to Hagley. You can now pay with contactless payment on Motu Move for $3 each way.
  • You can still pay for yourself and others with cash and MetroCard as well.

You’re welcome to bring along:

  • A small picnic or snacks (no commercial or takeaway meals)
  • Sealed non-alcoholic drinks up to 1L per person
  • Rugs, low camp chairs, hats, sunscreen and reusable bottles

All bags will be checked on entry.

Please use the bins provided and help us keep Hagley Park clean. Bring only what you need and take any rubbish with you when you leave or make sure to use the waste bins around the venue.
