Uber / Taxi Locations

Match Days

There is a dedicated match day Uber / Taxi drop-off or pick-up zone on Riccarton Avenue, just steps from the gates A and D. Taxi drivers in Christchurch are already familiar with these spots—just tell them “Hagley Oval, Riccarton Avenue” as the destination.

Here are a few handy tips:
  • Drop-off: Taxis and Ubers can use the carpark within the precinct, but Riccarton Avenue is usually the easiest and least congested option. Alternatively get dropped off on Montreal St and utilise scooters or take short walk to the ground.
  • Pick-up after an event: Demand can be high, so it’s wise to book your ride in advance and arrange to get picked up from surrounding streets.

Non Match Days:

For visitors planning to arrive at Hagley Oval, Ubers and Taxis are able to drive into the main carparking area outside the Hadlee Pavilion and Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Centre.

Taxi companies:
Some of the main Christchurch providers are:

  • First Direct Taxis – (03) 377 5555
  • Blue Star Taxis – (03) 379 9799
