Precinct Amenities

All you need to know for your visit to the Hagley Precinct

Public Toilets

The Hagley Oval Precinct is well-equipped with public amenities, including three sets of public toilets strategically located throughout the area that are open 7 days a week. These facilities ensure convenience and accessibility to support the many park visitors, walkers/runners, families, and sports teams who enjoy the area each day.

Behind the Hadlee Pavilion – Located in the main carpark underneath the Hadlee Pavilion, these facilities are perfect for match days, events, or general use when visiting the Oval. These are the best option for park users in and around the Oval and/or using the Nursery Ground.

Hagley Corner – Located at the grass boundary of the Hagley Corner fields, a few short steps from the internal park pathway that is linked to the footbridge from the Hadlee Pavilion carpark. This is a convenient spot for walkers, cyclists, park visitors, and weekend sports users and those using the cricket or football fields on Hagley Corner.

‍Polo Grounds – Located next to the Southwestern corner of the Polo grounds closest to Deans Avenue. This is the most convenient stop for those using Christ College Cricket Grounds of the South Hagley Park rugby fields.

Moving Around the Precinct

Our two main buildings, Hadlee Pavilion and Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Centre have main entrances that are accessible friendly. The Hadlee Pavilion has lift access up to the Miles Group Lounge for those in wheelchairs, walking aides and prams for people to view matches from the lounge.

For those wanting to make their way up the embankment, there are steps located around the Oval to aid in getting to the top of the embankment. Wheelchair access to the Oval is available in the two gaps in the embankment.

Paved internal park pathways make it easier for those in wheelchairs, scooters and other walking aides to make their way around the park. Check the maps on which pathways are accessibility friendly.

Washrooms

Accessible washrooms are located under the Hadlee Pavilion for public use and on match days, additional washrooms are located in the Miles Group Lounge for Pavilion guests as well as temporary washrooms in front of the old grounds team office. The Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Centre also has accessible washrooms for users of the Sports Centre

Matchday Access & Seating

Accessibility access on Match Days is via Gate A next to St Albans Cricket Club. This provides quick direct access to the area for wheelchairs. This wheelchair access and companion seating area are located within the grounds beside the gap in the embankment. There are a few chairs in this area for wheelchair carers but as this is limited, we recommend bringing your own fold-up chair. If you have special seating requirements such as wheelchair access or you require companion seating please contact Ticketek on 0800 686 677.
