Due to the red wind warning issued and the state of emergency declared for Canterbury, Hagley Oval and all facilities within the precinct will be closed until further notice.
This precautionary closure is to ensure the safety of all staff, members, and visitors during this severe weather event. High winds are forecast to continue throughout the region, posing significant risks from falling debris and unsafe travel conditions.
We are closely monitoring updates from MetService, Christchurch City Council, and Civil Defence, and will reopen the precinct as soon as it is safe to do so.
