One of the major roles of the Executive Manger focuses on is fostering key relationships amongst the community and developing strategic initiatives that support improving community engagement, developing strong connections with charities, the wider cricketing community, other sporting codes and our community neighbors. Through this grant, these initiatives are made possible and provide memorable opportunities and experiences around the Hagley Oval…
Funding grant helps upgrade CCTV Security System at Hagley Oval 8 January 2025 Recently, the CCTV system around the Hagley Oval Precinct has been through some much needed upgrades. The CCTV system plays a vital role in providing safety for members of the community who use the precinct on a daily basis but also helps with player and crowd safety during match days on Hagley Oval. The cost of installing a new system is significant but thankfully, we have been fortunate to have received some financial support. The Aotearoa Gaming Trust have very generously provided the Canterbury…
Support of the CCT continues. 16 December 2024 The Canterbury Cricket Trust has been very fortunate to receive funding from a variety of organisations which assist us in the operational costs associated with running and maintaining the Hagley Oval Precinct for our community to enjoy. One of the more unknown aspects is maintaining and servicing the Emergency Beacons on top of the light towers and the and UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) system for Light Tower E. ?? Light Tower E is located very close to the flight path for the helicopters flying in and out of Christchurch Hospital.…
20 November 2024 The Canterbury Cricket Trust are extremely excited to share that Chairman, Lee Robinson has been appointed as a New Zealand Cricket Life Member. Amongst his many years of dedicated service to the Trust, Lee has played an instrumental role in the development of Hagley Oval Cricket Precinct including the Hadlee Pavilion and the Sir Richard Hadlee Sports Centre. The Hagley Oval Precinct would not be what it is today without Lee’s input and help. Lee was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2017 Queens Birthday Honours List for his services to the community…
More support of the CCT from Funding organisations 13 November 2024 The Canterbury Cricket Trust (CCT) is very lucky to have the support of numerous organisations and individuals who help us provide opportunities for our communities to enjoy Hagley Oval Precinct. Trillian Trust is one of those organisations who, through a funding grant, have helped us with some of our operational costs. The Trillian Trust grant is supporting some of the operational costs of the Hagley Oval Lights. Our operational costs for the lights are significant – even when we don’t turn them on, so any support…

Major donor and longtime supporter of Hagley Oval passes. 26 August 2024 Canterbury Cricket Trust and Hagley Oval are deeply saddened by the passing of Kevin Hickman on Friday, 23rd August 2024. Kevin, alongside his wife Joanna, was a passionate supporter of Hagley Oval. Their generosity as private donors played a pivotal role in ensuring the installation of the Hagley Oval lights. Without their dedication, this project would not have come to fruition, and thousands across our community would have missed out on the joy of night cricket each season. Kevin’s legacy will forever shine through the…
More funding to help support the CCT’s operations at Hagley Oval 13 August 2024 How lucky are we to have the support we do! The Lion Foundation is another funding organisation who have provided support to the Canterbury Cricket Trust with organisational expenses in 2024. Back in February 2024, the Lion Foundation generously provided the Trust with a grant which supported our auditing expenses. This has allowed us to channel our resources into other areas to provide and maintain the facilities within the Hagley Oval precinct for the community to use. Having facilities for the community to…
