Updated Start Time for Day Two of the Test Match at Hagley Oval Following an eventful opening day of Test cricket at Hagley Oval, we wish to advise that the start time for Day Two has been updated. The first ball will now be bowled at 10.35am, brought forward from the originally scheduled 11.00am.This adjustment has been made to accommodate rain delays and a slow over rate during today’s play. All other match-day details remain the same, including gate opening times, venue operations, ticketing, hospitality, and broadcast arrangements. Day One Recap At stumps, the BLACKCAPS reached 231/9 after 70 overs in their first innings, with bad light bringing a premature end to proceedings. The day featured a welcome highlight for Blackcaps fans as Kane Williamson marked his return to Test cricket with a composed 52, anchoring the innings through challenging conditions. 25 October 2025. The Ford Trophy season kicks off tomorrow at Hagley Oval, and we’re excited to welcome fans back for another great day of domestic cricket in the heart of Christchurch! Key Match Details Bring your deck chairs, picnic, and plenty of energy to support the teams as the action unfolds throughout the day. Members and Guests The Miles Group Members Lounge will be open from 10.00am for Pavilion Club members and their guests. Entry is via the Hadlee Pavilion main reception. The Pavilion bar will be serving food and beverages throughout the day from a limited Bistro menu. Please note that Hagley Oval is a cashless venue — all purchases can be made by card only. Facilities and Amenities Safety at the Oval Cricket is full of excitement — and the occasional flying ball!For your safety, please keep an eye on the play at all times and remind those with you to do the same, especially children. From time to time balls can be hit into spectator areas. Thursday 23rd October 2025 Due to the red wind warning issued and the state of emergency declared for Canterbury, Hagley Oval and all facilities within the precinct will be closed until further notice. This precautionary closure is to ensure the safety of all staff, members, and visitors during this severe weather event. High winds are forecast to continue throughout the region, posing significant risks from falling debris and unsafe travel conditions. We are closely monitoring updates from MetService, Christchurch City Council, and Civil Defence, and will reopen the precinct as soon as it is safe to do so.
